APPLICANT FOR FULL TIME GRAPHIC DESIGNER COORDINATOR
Candidate: Graphic Designer Coordinator
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to interview for the position of Graphic Designer Coordinator at Destination El Paso. I am really thrilled to know that I may have an opportunity to utilize my skills and experience while working with the team that promotes our great city. Below please find a few images for potential discussion points during the interview process. If you have any additional questions after our interview, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Event Planning, Coordinating & Design
While at Immaculata University I was fortunate enough to be part of planning and designing event collateral for a Hollywood red carpet event celebrating the 40 year anniversary of the Mighty Macs women’s basketball team that won 3 back to back NCAA championship from 1972-1974. The Black Tie Gala was held at The Franklin Institute were the university premiered The Mighty Macs movie. From invitations to gift bags we produced a wide range of items to engage and connect with donors. I also had the opportunity to mingle with some Hollywood actors including Carla Gugino, David Boreanaz, Ellen Burstyn and Marley Shelton.
Alumni Magazine, Editorial Re-design
I had the pleasure of working on, and then re-designing two great alumni magazines. Spearheading the re-design of NOVA Magazine as we changed it to UTEP Magazine, gave me the opportunity to showcase my strong editorial design skills. This stratigic marketing move would capitalize on a major opportunity to brand the university as the magazine would find itself on coffee tables accross the country, in the homes of the growing number of alumni. The Presidents office quickly agreed with the change suggestion, and a new alumni magazine was born. The Re-Design for Immaculata University’s alumni magazine was not as drastic since their magazine name was already in line with the school’s name, however the 12 page publication took on a more impactful form as the quality and quantity of the content exploded into a robust professional look.
Brochures, Mailers & Research Guides
Although I have produced numerous brochures and mailers, I wanted to keep this collection simple. When working at UTEP I worked very closely with writers and photographers to produce a pair of extremely thorough research guides as well as brochures promoting several programs. Then while at Immaculata University I had to keep the cost down while designing a calendar of events for the school’s symphony.
Packaging Design
Mini Coture:
Travel kit for baby maintenance on the go.
Green Clean Home:
Natural and organic cleaning supplies.
Website Design
I have worked closely with web developers from whom I have learned a great deal of web standards and some basic coding.
Marketing Campaign
”What Makes Immaculata U?”
While at Immaculata University I helped develop a social media app, which was also a marketing campaign, that would give students a platform to express their voices and elaborate on their personal experiences on campus. Allowing students to express “what makes Immaculata U” would communicate the inclusive atmosphere of the university to other current or potential students.
Posters & Illustration
Illustration is an alternate passion. Although I am a traditional artist by nature, and capable of utilizing a plethora of mediums to achieve required effects, I find myself drawn to new and modern digital platforms. From iPad sketching on the go to bold vector graphic illustrations, I am constantly looking to discover new techniques to help communicate any given concept or idea. MORE
